Hilliard Society Gallery of Miniature ArtElizabeth BrownBritish artist
Elizabeth was born and spent her early years in Warwickshire, but in her early 20's she began her travels overseas to Spain, Iran and the UAE. While in these countries she was involved with art - painting, exhibiting and teaching. The UAE was her home for 13 years, and during her time there the Dubai Art Centre became her second home, where she taught painting (in all mediums and to many nationalities), brought over professional artists from the UK, and organised exhibitions. In 1989 she and her family returned to the UK, much to her disappointment, but she soon became involved with art again by working for the Arts Council. When her husband was transferred to Lincoln they bought an old Methodist Chapel and schoolhouse, which they spent 15 converting. Elizabeth and her husband have now relocated to Carmarthenshire in Wales. Elizabeth has been painting most of her life but 16 years ago she ventured into the world of miniatures, where she has won numerous awards and exhibited on a global basis. Her work now forms part of many private collections and has also been purchased by a Fine Arts Museum in Colorado, USA as part of their permanent collection Copyright of any image belongs to the Artist.
