Michael W. Coe HS, MAA, RMS - British Miniature Painter


Michael is a self-taught, full-time artist. He started painting watercolor miniatures in 1991.

He became a member of the Hilliard Society of Miniaturists in 1992 and has, on two occasions, received the Society's Bell Portrait Award.

He received the Best Non-Members Award with his first exhibit at the RMS, and was elected a full member in 1996, receiving the Mundy Sovereign Award for Portraiture and the Gold Memorial Bowl at separate annual exhibitions.

Michael is also an invited member of the Miniature Artists of America, the Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington D.C., and a member of the Miniature Arts Society of Florida, exhibiting regularly at their annual exhibitions and winning Best of Show. He was the 'Invitée d'Honneur' at the annual exhibition of the 'Societé des Artistes en Miniature et Arts Précieux', in Bernicourt, France.

Michael has also exhibited at several Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual exhibition in London
